DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - The Detroit Police Department is having a little fun as part of the Running Man Challenge dance-off.

The department posted a video on its Facebook page showing uniformed officers dancing at different locations around the city, including in front of the 24-foot bronze "Monument to Joe Louis" in downtown that's known to many simply as "The Fist."

The Running Man Challenge asks participants to film themselves dancing to Ghost Town DJ's song, "My Boo."

The video also is posted on a Facebook page for Detroit's police Chief James Craig, who dances a bit himself in the video and encourages officers in other departments to come work in Detroit.

With the posting, Detroit police have extended a challenge to some other police departments to participate in the dance-off.

As of Tuesday morning, the video had been viewed more than 658,000 times.
