Detroit Police Seek Person Of Interest In Fatal Shooting [PHOTOS]

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are asking for the public's help in identifying a person of interest in the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old man.

According to police, at around 12:55 p.m. Sunday officers responded to reports of a car hitting a tree in the 19300-block of Omira Street on the city's east side. Investigators soon determined that the driver of the blue 2001 Buick Century had been shot and killed before he struck the tree.

Police have released a photo of a man they think has information about the case. He was seen with the victim just prior to the time of the shooting.

Anyone who recognizes the man in the photos or who has any information pertaining to this crime, is asked to call Detroit police at 313-596-1616 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK UP.  As always, tipsters to Crime Stoppers may remain anonymous.

Alternatively, tipsters can submit information anonymously through the department's smart phone app "DPD Connect," available for download in the app store.
