Detroit Police Search For Missing Bipolar Woman With Schizophrenia

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit Police are searching for a missing woman who they say suffers from bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

37-year-old Lekisha Allen was last seen by her brother-in-law near Five Mile Rd. and Greenfield on Thursday. Sergeant Cassandra Lewis told WWJ Newsradio 950 that Allen has been medicated for bi-polar disorder and schizophrenia.

"Just because of her mental situation we're concerned and we want to get her back to her family as soon as possible," Lewis said.

The woman's caregiver -- who reported Allen missing -- said her red hair was in a ponytail, and she was wearing a navy blue t-shirt with blue jeans. Her index finger is missing from her right hand.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
