Detroit Police Search For Carjacker Armed With Semi-Automatic Weapon

DETROIT (WWJ) - Police are looking for a suspected carjacked armed with a semi-automatic weapon in Detroit.

Police say the suspect carjacked an innocent victim Friday morning near East Davison and Conant Street, on the city's east side.

The suspect, described as a 6-foot tall black man, fled the scene in the stolen vehicle, headed eastbound on Conant. Police say that vehicle, a 2009 Chevy Malibu, was  later recovered near Gratiot and Conner.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

The carjacking victim was uninjured.
