Detroit Police Search For 15-Year-Old Girl Who Ran Away From Home

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are asking for the public's help in locating a missing 15-year-old girl who apparently ran away from her east side home.

Police say Aniya Whitfield was last seen around 10 p.m. Monday in the area of Longview and Newport streets, in a neighborhood near I-94 and Chalmers Street.

According to police, Whitfield has run away from home four or five times prior. She has no physical or mental disabilities.

Whitfield is described as a black female with a light brown complexion and 5'4" tall, with a slim build and black shoulder-length hair. She was last seen wearing a long sheer blue dress with flowers on it and black sandals.

Anyone with information on Whitfield's whereabouts is urged to contact police at 313-596-5940.
