Detroit Police Investigate Deadly Stabbing On West Side

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are investigating a deadly stabbing on the city's west side that was likely fueled by alcohol.

The incident unfolded around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday at a home on Oakfield Avenue, in a neighborhood along the Southfield Freeway just south of 7 Mile Road.

According to police, a 20-year-old man was fatally stabbed by his sister's 32-year-old boyfriend.

Police say both the victim and suspect were drinking alcohol and had an argument, which led to the stabbing. Sources tell WWJ an 11-year-old girl witnessed the entire incident.

The suspect was taken into custody at the scene.

An investigation is ongoing.
