Detroit Police, Firefighters Seek Bragging Rights In Softball Game

DETROIT (AP) -- Police and firefighters in Detroit head to the softball diamond for a tournament and food donations to help those in need.

Each department will field an all-star team Sunday afternoon in the best two-out-of-three event.

The winning team gets a trophy and a years' worth of bragging rights.

Residents are invited to attend the tournament at King Boring Field in Dearborn, west of Detroit. Canned goods and non-perishable items are requested and will be given to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.
