Detroit People Mover Back In Service After Mechanical Malfunction

DETROIT (WWJ) - Following a mechanical malfunction early Tuesday, the Detroit People Mover is moving people again.

City officials said a track cable on the guide-way affected the automatic train control system at the beginning of the service day. Maintenance crews worked non-stop to restore and test the section.

All the trains were  back in operation Tuesday afternoon.

"We definitely apologize to our patrons for the delay," Detroit Transportation Corporation spokeswoman Ericka Alexander said.
