Detroit Man Driving Wrong Way On Lodge Dies In Crash

DETROIT (WWJ) - A 30-year-old man was killed in an accident while driving on the wrong way on the Lodge Freeway over the weekend.

Michigan State Police say Cornelius Parks of Detroit was headed northbound in the southbound lanes of the Lodge near Grand River when he crashed into another car early Saturday morning.

Police said Parks, who was driving a 1996 Cadillac, hit the 2012 Nissan head-on under the Grand River overpass at around 3:10 a.m.

Parks was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Nissan was taken to a local hospital, however there was no information available about his or her condition.

Police aren't saying how they believe Parks ended up on the wrong side of the freeway. An MSP investigation is ongoing.
