Detroit Man Charged In His Mother's Fatal Stabbing

DETROIT (WWJ) - A Detroit man has been charged in his mother's stabbing murder.

Jeremy Williams, 25, is accused of stabbing 54-year-old Pamela Williams to death on Sunday at the home they shared on the 1800 block of Whithorn in Detroit.

According to the Wayne County Prosecutor's office, police were called to the home at around 1 p.m. Sunday. When officers arrived, a relative directed them to a bedroom where they found the victim on a bed with multiple stab wounds.

She was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

According to prosecutors, Williams initially fled the scene but turned himself in to police later in the day.

He was scheduled to be arraigned in 36th District Court Monday afternoon on a charge of open murder.

Williams faces the possibility of life in prison if convicted.
