Detroit Man Arrested After Abducting Son, Ex-Girlfriend

DETROIT (AP) - A Detroit man has been arrested after police say he kidnapped his ex-girlfriend and their 7-year-old son on the city's east side.

WXYZ-TV says the 26-year-old man stopped the woman's vehicle about 10 a.m. Wednesday with his car.

The Detroit News says the man forced the woman into his car and drove off. The boy was dropped off with his maternal grandmother.

WDIV-TV says an off-duty officer chased the man, who then rammed his vehicle.

Police say the suspect took the woman to a house and they say he and the woman remained inside for about two hours until police talked him into coming out.

Police say they arrested him about 1:40 p.m. and say he could face kidnapping and felonious assault charges.

The woman and the boy were uninjured.
