Detroit Historical Museum Hosts City Neighborhoods Exhibit

DETROIT (AP) - An exhibit spotlighting city neighborhoods and the people who have worked with ARISE Detroit! has opened at the Detroit Historical Museum.

"Neighborhoods Rising" is scheduled to run through June 18. It features nearly 200 photos, video and audio displays that are part of the Detroit nonprofit's annual Neighborhoods Day and other activities.

The exhibit is sponsored by the DTE Energy Foundation.

ARISE Detroit! Executive Director Luther Keith says the exhibit is "by and for the people."

The organization is a coalition of more than 400 churches, block clubs and businesses. It promotes volunteerism and community activism through service and city beautification projects.
