Detroit Firefighter Charged In Fatal Bar Fight Shooting

DETROIT (WWJ) - A Detroit firefighter has been charged with second degree murder in connection with a shooting at a local bar.

It happened Dec. 29, at around 12:30 a.m.

According to prosecutors, 35-year-old Terrill Hardaway got into an altercation with 41-year-old Tony Jackson, who worked as a disc jockey at the bar, located in the 19300 block of Schoolcraft in Detroit.

After the two were separated, they went outside, both pulled guns, and fired.

Jackson sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead on arrival at a local hospital.

Hardaway was treated for a single gunshot wound to the shoulder.

He is scheduled to be arraigned at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in 36th District Court.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said more detailed facts will be revealed at the preliminary examination in the case.
