Detroit Cop Charged With Stealing 'Scarface' Collage From Crime Scene

DETROIT (WWJ) - A 62-year-old Detroit police officer has been charged with stealing from a crime scene.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said Christos Kyriakides faces a charge of larceny in a building. He's expected to be arraigned Friday in 36th District Court.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred around 8:20 p.m. on Feb. 20 when Kyriakides was participating in the execution of a search warrant.

While Kyriakides was at the location, he allegedly removed a framed "Scarface" movie collage from the scene and placed it in his scout car. Prosecutors say Kyriakides  later concealed the collage in his personal vehicle.

Other circumstances surrounding the incident weren't immediately released.

An investigation is ongoing.
