Detroit Area Job Market Rebounding Post-Recession

SOUTHFIELD (CBS Detroit) - The Detroit-area has seen one of the largest post-recession growth in jobs in the country, according to a study by Economic Modeling Specialists, Inc.

Between 2010 and 2013 the Detroit area was expected to add 89,000 jobs, but actually gained 125,000, according to the study. This placed the region ninth nationally in growth behind areas including San Francisco, Los Angeles and Houston.

Detroit also fared better than some of its Midwestern neighbors. Chicago, Milwaukee and Cincinnati which all had lower than expected job growth.
