Deputies Chase Down Man Who Fled Oakland County Circuit Court

PONTIAC (WWJ) - Oakland County deputies had to chase down a 56-year-old man who ran from from the 6th Circuit Court in Pontiac after failing a drug test.

Sheriff's officials say the White Lake Township man, Monday afternoon, failed to meet his probation requirements when he didn't pass his court-ordered test — and then fled the court room after finding out that his bond would be revoked.

After a foot pursuit east of the courthouse and over a fence at a railroad, deputies were able to catch up. The man was arrested without further incident and is being held in the Oakland County Jail.

Expected charges of resisting/obstructing are pending.

The man's name was not immediately released.
