Delta Flight From NY's LaGuardia Makes Emergency Landing In Detroit

ROMULUS (WWJ) - Delta flight 964 has landed. A Delta flight coming from LaGuardia Airport in New York to Detroit making an emergency landing Monday morning.

Incoming flight 964 reportedly experiencing an engine problem just after 7 a.m. and made an emergency landing without incident.

WWJ's Charlie Langton on the scene at Metropolitan Airport when the flight safely landed with approximately 154 people on board.

A passenger telling Langton that he heard "crackling" during the flight and the pilot announced that there was an engine issue.

"There was a crackling noise a couple of times, in the middle of the flight .. the left engine," said the passenger who did not want to be identified but said he was in row 16.

"The pilot came on and told passengers that there was an engine problem -- it wasn't far from the landing, about 10-15 minutes from landing. He said there was going to be fire and ambulance -- fire truck at the landing but not to be worried. And then we landed. It's Delta -- you don't have to worry."
