Delta Flight Forced To Divert Back To Detroit Due To 'Cockpit Issue'

ROMULUS (WWJ) -- The crew of Delta flight DL-236 from Detroit to Rome, Italy elected to return to Metro Airport after a "flight deck display" presented inaccurate information on Monday evening.

The plane had departed Metro Airport around 5:40 p.m. Monday afternoon.

Delta spokesman Michael Thomas told WWJ Newsradio 950's Gary Lundy that the Boeing 767-300ER landed without incident and passengers were re-accommodated on an alternate aircraft. There were 195 customers and 10 crew members on board.

There were no injuries reported.

Metro Airport emergency crews were on stand-by when the plane returned to the airport.
