Roads? Where it's going, you don't need roads. The DeLorean will always make me look twice when I see it. It's always been that way for me and that was before I ever saw any of the "Back to the Future" movies that really made the car more desirable than ever before.

An article on Maxim.com says that the DeLorean Motor Company in Texas is in fact producing brand new DMC-12s in 2017.

About 9,200 DMC-12s were actually built between 1981 and 1982 and around 6,500 still exist.

If you could buy the original one for around $22,000 at the Barrett-Jackson auto auction would you ever spend the reported $100,000 on a new version?

According to Maxim.com:

DeLorean anticipates selling about that number of DMC-12s over a five-year production run. The price won't be set until late this year, but it will be close to $100,000, reports DeLorean vice president James Espy. Although the law made production and sale of the cars legal, congress gave the federal agencies involved a year to draw up the relevant regulations.

The new DeLorean will have a reported 350 horsepower V6, compared to a 130 horsepower engine of the 80s version.

Would you want a brand new DeLorean or do you prefer the classic version?
