UPDATE 9/12: 'Multiple Controlled Substances' Found In Southfield Man Who Drowned At Music Festival

GRANT TOWNSHIP (WWJ/AP) - The death of a 29-year-old Southfield man whose body was found in a small western Michigan Lake is being considered an accident.

MLive.com reports Thursday that police say Matthew Quang Vo died from asphyxiation by drowning. Authorities are waiting for toxicology results.

Vo's body was found Monday morning in Oceana County's Lucky Lake. He had been attending the 4-day Lakes of Fire festival Saturday at Lucky Lake Campground in Grant Township, northwest of Grand Rapids.

missing persons' report was filed Sunday after his friends told police they hadn't seen him since early that morning.

According to an obituary — Vo, who went by "Matt" — graduated from Clarkston High School and Baker College and worked as a software developer.

A visitation and funeral services were set for Thursday and Friday in Clarkston.
