Death Of 3-Year-Old Inkster Boy Ruled A Homicide

INKSTER (WWJ) - The Wayne County Medical Examiner has ruled the death of a 3-year-old Inkster boy a homicide.

An autopsy shows the young boy, now identified as Tyme Smith, died of multiple blunt force trauma.

Police were called Thursday to Garden City Hospital where the boy was being treated for what were described as severe injuries on his head and all over his body.

Tyme later died.

The child's 41-year-old father and his girlfriend, who were arrested Thursday evening, remain in custody in connection with the child's death. Their names have not been released.

The case remains under investigation.
