Dearborn Police Investigate Deadly Accident

DEARBORN (WWJ) - Dearborn police say one person was killed after their vehicle left the road and crashed into a tree near the Southfield Freeway.

The accident happened early Tuesday morning on eastbound Rotunda Drive in front of the Oakwood Family Center, between Oakwood Boulevard and M-39.

According to police, the vehicle apparently left the road, which was reportedly "extremely icy" at the time, and struck a tree. The driver was declared dead at the scene, although no information about their identity was released.

No one else was injured in the crash, which remains under investigation.
