Suspected Dearborn Heights bank robber found wearing disguise at Tim Hortons

Dearborn Heights police to seek charges in missing teen case and more top stories

A suspected bank robber was found attempting to disguise himself at a nearby Tim Hortons coffee shop, police in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, reported. 

The robbery happened about 2:05 p.m. Thursday at Dearborn Federal Savings Bank, 4111 South Telegraph Road. The suspect told a teller he was robbing the bank and pointed a handgun at the employee, Dearborn Heights Police said. 

After police arrived, they got a description of the suspect based on an image from the bank's video security system. 

While searching the area, officers found a person matching the description inside a Tim Hortons down the street. "The suspect had tried to disguise himself by putting on fake dreadlocks," the report added. 

Upon investigation, cash was recovered from the man's belongings, and he was taken into custody. 

The Wayne County Prosecutor's office is reviewing the case and charges are pending.
