Deadly Wrong-Way Crash May Be Result Of Drowsy Driving

GARDEN CITY (WWJ) - A fatal overnight crash in Garden City might have been the result of drowsy driving.

The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at Ford Road just west of Merriman Road.

According to reports, a 24-year-old Dearborn man was driving an Enterprise rental truck when he crossed the center line of Ford Road and crashed into oncoming traffic, striking a vehicle driven by a 28-year-old Detroit man.

The Detroit man suffered fatal injuries in the crash.

Michigan State Police are assisting Garden City police as the investigation continues.

Names of those involved have not yet been released.

Ford Road was closed for several hours as police investigated but has since reopened.
