Deadly Accident On I-94 Closes Freeway For Hours

DETROIT (WWJ) - Michigan State Police are investigating a deadly accident.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. Sunday night on eastbound I-94 between Livernois and I-96.  According to police a vehicle struck two construction workers and a parked construction truck.

Police say construction worker Rafael Castillo-Saavedra of Detroit was pronounced dead at the scene and the second worker was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. Police say the driver, Marvin Harris, of Detroit also died.

As a result, the freeway was closed for about four hours.
