Deadline Today For Franchise Tag Decision On Suh For The Detroit Lions

DETROIT (WWJ) - Show him the money? We'll find out if Detroit Lions defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh will get the franchise tag from the team.

The deadline is 4 p.m.

If Suh gets that franchise tag, usually reserved for a team's top unrestricted free agent, he'll earn almost $27 million for the 2015 season.

"I know it's a lot of money but ... the salary cap is going to go up $10 million to $143 (million) for the coming season, if they can restructure the contracts as well of both Calvin Johnson and Matthew Stafford, the Lions should have enough money under the cap to bring back Ndamukong Suh with that franchise tag," said WWJ's Tony Ortiz.

That would be the largest franchise tag price in the NFL.
