DDOT Bus Sideswiped During Police Chase Involving Stolen Vehicle

DETROIT (WWJ) -- A stolen vehicle incident in Detroit turned into a short chase Monday night for Michigan State Police troopers.

Lt. Mike Shaw told WWJ Newsradio 950 that the incident happened about 8 p.m. along Joy Road near Pinehurst in Detroit after troopers attempted to pull over the stolen vehicle.

The driver gave chase, with the vehicle coming to a halt after it sideswiped a DDOT bus. The driver of the stolen vehicle was immediately taken into custody, with three other suspects in the car taking off on foot.

Three passengers on the bus asked to be taken to a hospital for observation, but the state police said no one was seriously injured.
