Day Two Of Detroit Tigers Fantasy Camp Ends In Injury

When I first heard I would be coming down to Lakeland, Florida for the Detroit Tigers Fantasy Camp, I was so excited.

Then people starting getting into my ear saying, "You're going to get hurt." I thought that was hogwash and that I'd be okay since the average age of the guys and gals here is 54.

Tuesday morning our first game started off to be a success.

I drove in an RBI in the first inning with a base hit up the middle, made tough catches in left field -- and then it happened.

While playing right field, the ball went past the first baseman. I came in to field the ball and then, "pop" it was my hamstring. Luckily it's only pulled, so I can still bat and play first. But I really can't do too much otherwise.

We will see how Wednesday goes when I play a game under the lights.

Tuesday did have Kangaroo court held by Jon Warden, who played with the 1968 Detroit Tigers. I was fined $5 for walking through a garden. How he saw it, I have no idea.

Tuesday was also picture day so we took our team photo, the coaches took a photo and of course I got my photo with Joel Zumaya.
