James McCann and Jose Iglesias got into a very public skirmish during the Detroit Tigers' game against the Boston Red Sox on Friday night. Speculation reveals that Iglesias' teammates weren't happy with his effort on a pair of plays in the sixth inning of the 7-2 loss.
Former Tigers ace David Price -- who was traded just before the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline -- minced no words on Twitter when he tweeted a ringing endorsement for McCann early Saturday morning.
James McCann WILL have a C on his chest like Varitek did...he cares and he is a leader!! He will do what needs to be done...

No players wanted to talk about the specifics of what led up to the incident following the game, calling it "done" and "over." Iglesias spoke to the media prior to Saturday's game against the Red Sox before a public relations official cut the session short.
Iglesias was happy with the way he handled the situation last night, doesn't care that it was caught on TV, it's in the past now.

McCann caught 13 of Price's 21 starts in Detroit this season.
