CW50 Street Team rocks out at Best of Detroit Party

Hour Detroit Magazine celebrated Detroit's greatest hits at their 9th annual Best of Detroit Party, Friday at MotorCity Casino Hotel.

The event featured food from the finest restaurants Detroit has to offer. The restaurants at the event were selected by the readers of Hour Detroit as the very best of the best.

"The Best of Detroit Party celebrates the winners that are featured in our June issue," said Lauren Slete, Hour Detroit's marketing and events director. "Tonight we have over 30 participants. Everything from the best restaurants, best boutiques and the best shops."

From caviar to barbeque and from cheeseburgers to cheesecake, there was plenty of variety among the participants.

One participant is Brooke Wilson, the owner of Love and Buttercream in Royal Oak.

"It's a huge honor that Hour and the rest of Detroit would consider us to be the best cookies in the city," Wilson said.

The winners and the guests weren't the only ones excited about the party. Staff members of Hour Detroit were enjoying themselves too.

"This is the biggest party of the year for us," said Hour Detroit Editor, Steve Wilke. "The readers vote on this, all the best of Detroit. There's 300+ categories and it's always a blast."

As if the food wasn't enticing enough, the Best of Detroit also featured live performances by The Killer Flamingos, Jared Sykes, DJ Captn20 and DJ Prevu.
