CW50 Street Team blasts off at Martian Marathon

The Martians have landed in Dearborn Heights and they're hungry- for some exercise.

The Martian Marathon is an annual event featuring a 5k, a 10k, a marathon, a half marathon and even a kids marathon.

The streets were vibrant with exercise activity as well as alien life during the marathon. Plenty of participants and cheering sections donned alien get-ups and costumes for the theme of the event.

"I ran in the 10k," said Wendy Chapman. "This is my 4th year running this race. The weather today has been awesome."

The planets must've aligned, because the weather certainly was amazing- and so was the feeling of running after an ice cold Michigan winter.

"It was hilly," said Katie Hanselman. "But going down the hills I felt like I was going a lot faster. It was really awesome."

The CW50 Street Team is looking forward to returning to the Martian Marathon next year.
