Curfew Begins For Angels' Night

DETROIT (AP) — A youth curfew will be in place over the three-day Halloween period in Detroit.

Minors 17 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian from 6 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday and from 6 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday.

Curfew violators will be ticketed and detained until picked up by a parent or guardian.

A similar youth curfew begins at 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday in Saginaw.

The dispensing of gasoline into gas cans or other portable containers is prohibited in Detroit through Saturday unless the fuel is needed for stalled vehicles, heating a home or an emergency generator.

The actions are part of Detroit's annual anti-arson Angels' Night campaign. Volunteers and city workers will patrol neighborhoods to discourage anyone from setting fires.
