Crowd Gathers At Detroit Gas Station As Fight Turns Into Shooting
DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit police are on the lookout for a gunman after shots were fired at a gas station during a fight on Friday.
Authorities say that a fight broke out at the Marathon gas station on Grand River Ave. just east of Telegraph Rd. just before 2:30 a.m. Friday. Police say several people were involved and a crowd gathered to watch.
Shots were fired into the crowd, striking two men. A 32-year-old man was hit in the calf and a 28-year-old man was struck in the back of the head. Both men were taken to a local hospital in temporary serious condition.
Police are asking for the public's help identifying and finding the suspect, who is described as a black male between the ages of 18 and 24. He has a slim build, medium complexion, afro-style hair and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and grey sweatpants.
The suspect was seen fleeing the scene in a white Dodge Challenger with a red racing stripe.
