Creepy Clown Sighting In Metro Detroit: Hoax Or The Real Deal? [VIDEO]

CLINTON TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - "Creepy clown" sightings have made their way to Metro Detroit.

A video posted on social media over the weekend shows a clown at a car wash at Cass and Moravian in Clinton Township.

The clown merely waved, but panicked voices on the video claim that the clown tried to follow them.

The video has been shared more than 7,000 times, but it's not clear if the sighting is authentic or a hoax. Police told reporters they are aware of the sighting but said the clown didn't appear to be threatening anyone.

Other "creepy clown" incidents have been reported in Big Rapids, Port Huron, and Muskegon, where a school district went into a "soft lockdown" mode.

The first widely reported sighting was in South Carolina in August and has spread to nearly 30 U.S. states.
