Costco Building New Warehouse, Adding Jobs In Wayne County

VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP (CBS Detroit) - Some jobs are coming to Wayne County thanks to Costco.

The company announced Tuesday that it plans to build a new distribution warehouse in Van Buren Township, creating more than 120 jobs.

The township approved a $3.7 million tax break and the state awarded Costco a $450,000 Michigan Business Development Program grant in order to secure the nearly $48 million project. Michigan was chosen over competing sites in the Midwest, according to a news release.

It was not immediately known when the project would break ground.
