Cops: Man Hanging Onto Car Killed When Girlfriend Speeds Off

CLEVELAND (AP) - Cleveland police say a woman crashed into a park bench, guardrail, and fence, killing her boyfriend who had been hanging onto the car's hood while the two were arguing.

Cleveland police Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia says Stacey Moore was found early Saturday pinned underneath the car that crashed on an Interstate 90 ramp. He died at a hospital.

Police say the 27-year-old Cleveland man was arguing with Lynnette Lawson when the Cleveland woman sped off as Moore was hanging onto the hood. The car hurtled into the air, flipped, and collided with an SUV.

Police say Lawson was under the influence of alcohol and was charged with aggravated vehicular homicide.

Court records don't list an attorney for the 26-year-old Lawson.

Lawson and the SUV driver were treated for injuries.
