Consensus On U-M Coach Brady Hoke: Time For A Change [PODCAST]

ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - So who should become the next face of Wolverine Michigan football?

We posed the question to Sports Illustrated columnist, Michael Rosenberg -- a former Michigan alum and Detroit Free Press sportswriter.

"I think it's unlikely, though not impossible that Jim Harbaugh would come, he should be the first choice. I think Les Miles would take it - I think it's a real strong possibility," said Rosenberg. "Michigan's got a new athletic director who has never worked in athletic administration at a university before - it's going to be a real interesting month - I'll say that."

Although coaching at Michigan was Brady Hoke's "dream job", Rosenberg says it was indeed time for a change.

"Brady Hoke was a salt-of-the-earth guy," said Rosenberg. "I mean, he's one of the best people you will meet, and it's a little sad to me somebody that's that good of a guy - works his whole career for his dream job, gets it and fails. But at the end of the day, you are paying him a lot of money to win football games, and he didn't do it, and they had to make a change."

Michigan finished the season 5-and-7... missing a bowl game for the first time since 2009.

the resounding opinion we heard today from Michigan students following the dismisal of Brady Hoke's was... a "good man" who didn't get the job done.

"His time was up man. I think he came and he really was not the first coach they were looking at ... he was a filler," added one U-M student.
