Congressman, University President OK After 2-Vehicle Crash

CARROLLTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - An SUV carrying a Michigan congressman and a university president has crashed with a pickup truck in Saginaw County.

They received medical attention Wednesday but appeared to be unhurt. The Saginaw News says Republican U.S. Rep. John Moolenaar of Midland was riding in a Ford Edge driven by Don Bachand, president of Saginaw Valley State University.

The crash occurred around noon in Carrollton Township. Moolenaar and Bachand were traveling to a lunch meeting.

Moolenaar's chief of staff, Ryan Tarrant, says he's thankful his boss was wearing a seat belt.
