Community Searches For Suspect Who Killed Panhandler Outside Of Detroit Gas Station

(CBS DETROIT) - The Detroit Police Department and members of the community are searching for a man who shot and killed a panhandler outside of a Detroit gas station.

Police say he talked to the victim, Denez Dupree, outside of a gas station located at Dexter and Collingwood.

Detroit police are looking for a male suspect in the fatal shooting of a panhandler. The incident occurred 10/03/2021 at 7:30am in the 11000 block of Dexter Ave. The suspect had a brief conversation with the victim before leaving then returning with a gun and shooting a single shot, wounding the victim. The suspect then fled northwest from the scene. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
