How can you not love an awkward beef -- especially when it is done via social media.
Today brought us a stellar example.
ESPN has a contest going on right now for "the best fans in the world." To promote their contest, they have been tweeting to NHL teams' fans to show their support.
Earlier today, they made a push for the Red Wings fan base to step it up. I really didn't think anything of it.
@DetroitRedWings fans. Think you're the best fans in the world? Prove it.

And then it happened. The Columbus Blue Jackets stepped up to the plate and responded to ESPN in the best way possible. They answered with "who is this?"
.@espn Who is this?

This is an obvious burn to ESPN since they rather show highlights of a minor league baseball game, or the LFL or even me falling off a trampoline before they dare show NHL highlights.
Well done Blue Jackets, well done!
