Coins, Human Tooth Among Items In Lansing Unclaimed Goods Auction

LANSING (WWJ/AP) - The state of Michigan is hosting an auction of unclaimed items from safety deposit boxes, including coins, watches and a human tooth.

The auction takes place Saturday and Sunday at the Lansing Center. Items come from safety deposit boxes that the Michigan Department of Treasury came into possession of after they became inactive, and couldn't find heirs or rightful owners.

The rightful owners of the items can claim auction proceeds by submitting an inquiry form, or by calling the Unclaimed Property Division.

The auction is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday at the Lansing Center, located at 333 E. Michigan Ave. in downtown Lansing.
