Clinton Township Woman Charged With Kidnapping, Attempted Murder Of Baby

CLINTON TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - A 29-year-old Macomb County woman faces up to life in prison after she allegedly grabbed an infant from a Clinton Township home and ran.

Parisienne Racine-Clark of  Clinton Township was charged Monday with kidnapping, child abuse, and attempted murder charges in connection with the incident that took place last week.

According to Clinton Township police, when an 18-year-old babysitter realized the child — a relative's baby — was missing, last Friday morning, she and her boyfriend chased down the alleged kidnapper.

The pair heard the baby crying at a nearby home and burst inside. That's when Clark, who police say is the babysitter's cousin, allegedly held the baby out a second story window.

The boyfriend was able to rescue the child before Clark jumped out the window.

Clark was taken to the hospital for treatment and then transported to the Macomb County Jail. Police said the baby, who is less than a year old, was being checked out by a doctor.

A possible motive for the kidnapping has not been disclosed, but a family member told reporters Clark is bipolar and has been off her medications.

Magistrate Kim Silvestro set bond at $750,000 cash/surety at an arraignment Monday afternoon in 41 B District Court, and ordered Clark undergo a mental evaluation.

Clark will be back in court for a probable-cause hearing on March 26.
