Clawson Schools On Lockdown As Police Hunt Bank Robber

CLAWSON (WWJ) - Clawson High School and Middle School were put on lockdown following a bank robbery in the area.

According to Clawson police, KeyBank on 14 Mile Road was robbed Wednesday. The suspect escaped and was at large late in the afternoon.

The lockdown started before the school day ended, and students were being held after the final bell as a precaution. Police said the robbery was not connected to the schools.

WWJ's Laura Bonnell reported that she couldn't see any police activity around the school, but there were a lot of parents waiting in cars alongside empty buses in the parking lot.

No one was hurt.

There were no details immediately available about the suspect or the robbery.
