Child Dies After Being Found Burned, Unconscious In Hot Tub

INKSTER (WWJ) -- A 2-year-old child has died after being found unconscious and burned in a tub of scalding hot water in Inkster.

Inkster police told WWJ Newsradio 950 that they responded to a call from the boy's mother at around 7 p.m. Monday evening after finding the child in the home on Avondale St. just west of Inkster Rd.

The child was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. Early Tuesday morning, officials confirmed the boy had died.

It's not clear how long the boy was in the water before his mother found him. Several people were in the home at the time.

Authorities say the boy's parents are being questioned by police.

An investigation is ongoing.
