Charges Filed In Crash At Michigan Coast Guard Station

GRAND HAVEN (AP) — A man has been charged with making a bomb threat and crashing his pickup truck through a gate at a U.S. Coast Guard station in western Michigan.

Matthew Krueger appeared Monday in an Ottawa County court, a day after he was captured at the Coast Guard station in Grand Haven, near Lake Michigan.

Krueger is listed as a resident of Westmont, Illinois, but he's been living in Oceana County, 50 miles north of Grand Haven. That house burned down Sunday before the Coast Guard incident.

The 33-year-old Krueger is charged with making a false threat of terrorism and malicious destruction of property. He's accused of calling 911 to report that he was going to blow up the Coast Guard station.

Krueger asked for a lawyer. Bond was set at $75,000.
