Charges Added In Connection With Death Of Mom Whose Kids Are Still Missing

DETROIT (WWJ) - A man accused in connection with the killing of a Detroit mother whose children remain missing now faces additional charges.

Timothy Jones — co-defendant of Erin Justice, charged in the murder of Alicia Fox — had already been charged with "accessory after the fact to a felony."

After further investigation, Wayne County prosecutors added tampering with evidence, a 10-year-felony, and two counts of concealing the death of an individual, a 5-year felony.

Prosecutors said arrangements will be made for Jones to be arraigned via video on a warrant for the new charges  in 36th District Court; and he will receive a new preliminary examination date.

Jones, 27, remains jailed on a $30,000 bond on the initial charge.

Meantime, Justice, 26, is still in Atlanta, Georgia, fighting extradition back to Michigan.

Fox, 27, was found shot dead in an abandoned home last month. Her children — 6-year-old Kaylah Hunter and 8-month-old Kristian —  have been missing since before their mother's death.

Searches of Detroit parks and fields have turned up no sign of the kids, and Detroit Police Chief James Craig has said investigators do not know if they are dead or alive.
