Chain Reaction: Team In Michigan Seeks To Set Domino Record

WESTLAND (AP) - A team in metro Detroit is seeking a record-breaking chain reaction this weekend.

The project at Westland Shopping Center features about 250,000 dominoes and thousands of other common items and will be set in motion Saturday. They're hoping to break records including a Guinness World Record mark for the largest domino circle field.

The record is 54,321 set in Germany in 2014. On Saturday, they'll have about 70,000 dominoes in the circle field.

The project is called the called the "Zeal Credit Union Incredible Science Machine: World Edition," since it's backed by a credit union. The team involves Steve Price, who last year led a team at the Michigan Science Center in Detroit in an attempt to build the world's largest chain reaction machine that fell short.
