Central Michigan Greeks To Help Clean Neighborhood Streets

MOUNT PLEASANT (AP) — About 70 sorority and fraternity members at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant are expected to help clear local neighborhoods of trash and debris.

The "Greeks Clean the Streets" program is scheduled Sunday afternoon, a day after the big rivalry football game against Western Michigan. Organizers say up to 40 bags of trash are typically collected during the cleanup.

The Mount Pleasant Police Department says the neighborhood cleanup is part of a partnership the city established five years ago with the university's Greek community.
