Celebrate Detroit's 313th In 140 Characters At Tweetup

By Edward Cardenas

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) - The Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau is bringing together social media users, and others, Thursday to celebrate Detroit's 313rd birthday with a Tweetup.

The event, which brings together people who use Twitter to virtually chat in a physical location, is also an opportunity to network and discuss what is happening in Detroit.

There will also be trivia, prizes and a panel discussion at the Tweetup from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Firebird Tavern, 419 Monroe St., Detroit. There will also be free WiFi and complimentary appetizers.

For those who can't make it to the event, they can follow Tweets from those in attendance at #DetroitBday and #DetroitProud.

To register for the event, or for more information, visit the Detroit Birthday Tweetup Webpage.
