CCS To Host Urban Entrepreneurship Initiative

DETROIT (WWJ) - An opportunity for students and entrepreneurs to channel ideas into guided action through a one day event in Detroit.

The Urban Entrepreneurship Symposium on Friday, October 23 at the College for Creative Studies will give business creatives an audience of expert panelists and targeted business breakout sessions to help turn ideas into action.

"Urban entrepreneurship is business innovation that produces needed products and services for urban communities, or makes a significant number of jobs available to urban residents. With a for-profit startup company valued at $10 billion and geared to finding shared workspace in urban areas," says W. David Tarver, founder and president of the UEI.

The inaugural UEI was held last year on the campus of the University of Michigan. The event is moving to Detroit this year to attract an even broader audience of business innovators, academics, students and community and government leaders according to a release by UEI.
